Victron Energy Quattro-II 24/3000/70-50/50 2x120V Inverter Charger – 24V, 3000VA, 70A Charger, 50A Transfer Switch

The Victron Energy Quattro-II 24/3000/70-50/50 2x120V is a combined inverter and charger designed for standard North American 50 A, 120/240 VAC split-phase applications. Like the MultiPlus-II 2x120V, it also accepts two AC inputs and automatically connects to the active source.

120/240V or 120V Input and Output

The two AC inputs can be supplied from a split-phase 120/240 V source or a single-phase 120 V source. When an AC source is available, the Quattro-II feeds it through, so the output mirrors the input. When no AC source is available, it switches to inverter operation with a 120 V single-phase output, connecting both output lines (L1 and L2) together so loads on either line receive 120 VAC. 240 V loads are therefore supplied only when a split-phase AC source is present, which keeps heavy loads such as water heaters and 240 V air conditioners from discharging the battery.

PowerControl and PowerAssist

Set a maximum grid or generator current, and the Quattro-II uses whatever is left over after other AC loads for battery charging, preventing generator or grid overload (PowerControl). PowerAssist compensates for insufficient generator, shore or grid power with battery power during peak loads, then recharges the battery when the load drops. PowerControl and PowerAssist are available on the L1 input only.

Two AC Inputs and Two AC Outputs

Connect two independent AC sources, such as shore power and a generator, or two generators. The main output has no-break functionality: if grid power fails or shore or generator power is disconnected, the transfer time on the L1 output is less than 18 milliseconds, so computers and other electronics keep operating. The L2 output transfer time is longer, approximately 40 milliseconds. The second (auxiliary) output is live only when AC is available on the input, so loads that should not discharge the battery can be connected to it.

Parallel and Three-Phase Operation

Up to 6 Quattro units can operate in parallel for higher power output. Three units of the same model can also be configured for three-phase output. In multi-phase setups, L2 is disabled on all units.

Configuration, Monitoring and Remote Access

Change settings in minutes with the VictronConnect app or VEConfigure software (a computer and MK3-USB interface are needed). Monitoring and control options include Cerbo GX, Color Control GX, a laptop or computer, Bluetooth (with the optional VE.Bus Smart dongle), a Battery Monitor and the Digital Multi Control Panel. With a Cerbo GX or other GX product connected to the internet, operational data can be stored and displayed free of charge on the VRM (Victron Remote Management) website, and settings can be changed remotely.
