The biggest inverter in RUiXU's SUNON off-grid line. The SUNON12 is an all-in-one 48V inverter, solar charge controller and battery charger in one wall-mount unit. It delivers 12kW of 120/240V split-phase power, takes up to 24kW of solar across two MPPT inputs, and charges your battery bank at up to 250A from solar, grid or generator.

❓ Common Questions

Will it work with my RUiXU batteries?

Yes. RUiXU lists the SUNON12 as compatible with the Lithi2-16, and it works with 48V lithium battery banks like the RX-LFP48100 rack batteries. It connects to the battery BMS over RS485 or CAN using the included CAT6 cable.

Is this a grid-tied inverter? Can I sell power back?

No. The SUNON12 is an off-grid inverter. It can use the grid or a generator to charge your batteries and pass power through to your loads, but it doesn't export power to the utility. For grid-tied backup with export, look at the RUiXU RX-12K hybrid inverter.

Can I install it outside?

No. It's rated IP20, indoor only. Install it in a garage, utility room or other protected indoor space within its -10°C to 55°C operating range.

Can I run a well pump or central AC?

The SUNON12 is rated for motor loads up to 6 HP with an 18,000VA max output. Check your equipment's starting (surge) current, and call us if you'd like help sizing.

How much solar can I connect?

Up to 12,000W per MPPT input (24,000W total), with a maximum of 32A per input and 500V open-circuit voltage. Size strings to stay under 500V Voc in your coldest weather.

Can I add more inverters later?

Yes. You can run 1 to 6 SUNON12 units in parallel for up to 72kW of total output.

Does it work with a generator?

Yes. It has a dedicated generator input with selectable 120V or 240V operation, and can charge your batteries from the generator at up to 160A.

Can I install it myself?

RUiXU specifies installation by a qualified electrician, and local code usually requires a licensed installer and permit. We're happy to answer system design questions before you buy.
