The Davis Instruments Vantage Pro2 Wireless Weather Station is a professional-grade weather monitoring system engineered for accurate, reliable hyperlocal weather data. This advanced configuration includes the WeatherLink Console and 24-hour Fan-Aspirated Radiation Shield for enhanced temperature and humidity measurement accuracy in demanding environments.
Designed for serious weather enthusiasts, farms, homesteads, agriculture, research and professional weather observation, the Vantage Pro2 provides real-time weather updates every 2.5 seconds and an industry-leading wireless transmission range of up to 1,000 ft. (300 m).
A major advantage of this Vantage Pro2 configuration is its 24-Hour Fan-Aspirated Radiation Shield. Rather than relying solely on passive ventilation, a motor-driven fan continuously draws outside air through the sensor chamber to help minimize the effects of direct and reflected solar radiation on temperature measurements.
During daytime operation, airflow through the sensor chamber reaches approximately 500 ft. per minute (2.5 m/s). At night, the battery-powered system operates at a reduced airflow of approximately 280 ft. per minute (1.4 m/s).
This continuous airflow helps provide more representative ambient-air temperature measurements than passive radiation shielding alone, making this configuration especially useful when temperature accuracy is a priority.
The outdoor sensor suite measures the primary weather conditions needed for detailed local monitoring, including outside temperature, humidity, wind speed, wind direction and rainfall.
Weather information is transmitted wirelessly to the included WeatherLink Console, providing convenient access to current conditions, historical information, graphs and configurable alerts.
The Vantage Pro2 delivers weather information with updates as frequently as every 2.5 seconds. Fast updates make it possible to closely follow rapidly changing wind, temperature, humidity, rainfall and other local weather conditions.
The Vantage Pro2 provides a wireless transmission range of up to 1,000 ft. / 300 m between the outdoor sensor suite and WeatherLink Console. This extended range provides installation flexibility for farms, homesteads, large residential properties and other locations where the best sensor location may be a considerable distance from the indoor console.
The included WeatherLink Console features a vibrant HD color touchscreen for viewing, analyzing and understanding your local weather information. Its customizable dashboard can display up to 21 parameters, allowing you to prioritize the weather measurements that matter most.
The console also stores a database of historical weather records that can be used to create custom graphs and analyze weather trends over time.
The WeatherLink Console is a fully functional weather display, data-storage and analysis system even without an internet connection. When connected to Wi-Fi, it can also upload weather information to the WeatherLink Cloud for additional access and sharing capabilities.
Users can configure notifications based on hundreds of available parameters and select from multiple alert sounds. This allows the WeatherLink Console to provide notifications about environmental changes that are most important for a particular property or application.
The included anemometer measures wind speed and wind direction and can be installed up to 40 ft. / 12 m from the remainder of the outdoor sensor suite. This provides greater flexibility when choosing a location with fewer obstructions for more representative wind measurements.
The Vantage Pro2 outdoor sensor suite is solar powered with battery backup for reliable continuous monitoring. The WeatherLink Console operates using AC power with battery backup capability.
