The Davis Instruments Vantage Pro2 Plus Wireless Weather Station 6263 is an advanced professional-grade weather monitoring system combining a WeatherLink Console, 24-hour Fan-Aspirated Radiation Shield, UV sensor and solar radiation sensor in one comprehensive package. Designed for serious weather enthusiasts, farms, homesteads, agriculture, research and professional weather observation, the system provides detailed hyperlocal weather information with updates as frequently as every 2.5 seconds.
The outdoor sensor suite measures temperature, humidity, wind speed, wind direction, rainfall, UV and solar radiation. An industry-leading wireless transmission range of up to 1,000 ft. (300 m) provides flexible installation across larger properties, while the included WeatherLink Console provides a vibrant HD touchscreen for viewing current conditions, historical records, custom graphs and alerts.
This Vantage Pro2 configuration features a 24-Hour Fan-Aspirated Radiation Shield around the outside temperature and humidity sensors. A motor-driven fan continuously moves outside air through the sensor chamber, helping minimize the effects of direct sunlight and radiant or reflected heat on temperature measurements.
During daytime operation, the fan moves air through the chamber at approximately 500 ft. per minute (2.5 m/s). At night, battery-powered operation continues at a reduced airflow of approximately 280 ft. per minute (1.4 m/s).
The result is enhanced temperature measurement accuracy compared with passive shielding alone, making this system particularly useful for users who require high-quality local weather observations.
The Vantage Pro2 6263 provides a broad range of environmental measurements from one integrated weather station. Monitor outside temperature and humidity, rainfall, wind speed and direction, UV exposure and solar radiation to develop a detailed picture of changing weather conditions.
Real-time updates as frequently as every 2.5 seconds allow the system to capture rapidly changing conditions and provide timely weather information.
The included WeatherLink Console features a vibrant HD color touchscreen that makes it easy to view and analyze local weather conditions. The customizable dashboard can display up to 21 weather parameters, allowing users to focus on the measurements most important to their property or application.
A database of historical weather information is stored directly on the console, allowing users to create custom graphs and analyze weather trends over time.
The WeatherLink Console operates as a complete standalone weather display, storage and analysis system without requiring Wi-Fi. Connect the console to Wi-Fi to upload compatible weather information to the WeatherLink Cloud for additional access and sharing capabilities.
The included Davis UV sensor measures the sunburning portion of the ultraviolet spectrum and monitors global solar UV irradiance, including both directly transmitted and scattered UV radiation.
The system provides measurements including UV Index, UV dose rate, daily UV dose and accumulated UV dose, adding valuable solar-exposure information to the weather station.
The included solar radiation sensor measures incoming solar radiation for advanced environmental monitoring. Solar radiation information can be used for calculations such as evapotranspiration (ET) and Temperature/Humidity/Sun/Wind (THSW) Index when supported by the system.
The sensor uses a silicon photodiode designed to provide a good response to the solar spectrum.
The Vantage Pro2 provides wireless transmission up to 1,000 ft. / 300 m from the outdoor sensor suite to the console, providing significant flexibility when choosing the best monitoring location on farms, homesteads and larger properties.
The anemometer measures wind speed and wind direction and can be mounted up to 40 ft. / 12 m from the remainder of the sensor suite. This allows the wind sensor to be positioned in a more suitable location away from structures, trees or other potential obstructions.
The outdoor sensor system is solar powered with backup power for dependable long-term operation. Weather-resistant housing helps protect the electronics from outdoor conditions, while the included mounting hardware simplifies installation.
