The biggest single-battery 48V kit Epoch makes. The Epoch 48V 230Ah LiFePO4 Golf Cart Kit replaces a 48V lead-acid pack with one sealed battery storing 11.78kWh, more than double the 105Ah kit. It's a large, heavy battery (23.5" × 14.4" × 9.9", 196 lb), so it's meant for carts with a big battery bay. The kit comes with a 48V 22A lithium charger, a Bluetooth dash gauge, a fused 48V-to-12V converter, a remote on/off switch and the charge port plug for your cart, in EZGO TXT and Other versions. Mounting brackets are sold separately.
Epoch doesn't publish a range estimate for this kit. Real-world range depends on terrain, passenger weight, tire size, lift kits, controller tuning, speed and accessory load. The gauge and app make it easy to track your own usage.
🛺 Will It Fit My Cart?
Choose EZGO TXT or Other above so you get the matching charge port plug. This battery is much bigger than a typical lithium cart battery, so measure your bay before you order. Epoch offers this kit for:
- EZGO TXT (48V)
- Other 48V carts with room for the battery (choose Other)
- 48V NEVs & utility vehicles
- Stretched carts (with the 13 ft harness)
- Your cart runs on 48V. This kit is not for 36V or 72V carts.
- Your battery bay fits 23.5" L × 14.4" W × 9.9" H (597 × 366 × 251 mm), plus room for terminals and cables. That's about 5.4" longer than the 105Ah kit.
- The battery weighs 196 lb (89 kg). Epoch says to use suitable lifting equipment or enough people to lift it safely, and to secure it with hold-down hardware rated for its weight.
- Mounting brackets are not included. For an EZGO TXT, Epoch sells a bracket made for this battery (BB51230-TXT1). Other carts need hold-downs that fit your bay.
- Your controller's draw stays within 300A continuous (500A for 15 sec, 1,000A for 2 sec).
- Club Car carts with an On-Board Computer (OBC) may need an OBC bypass.
- Your 12V accessories (lights, radio, USB) total 25A or less on the included converter.
- The 6 ft switch harness reaches the dash on standard carts. Stretched carts may need the 13 ft harness (sold separately).
Why Choose the 230Ah
Over 11 kWh in One Box
230Ah at 51.2V stores 11,776Wh: more than double the 105Ah kit and about 50% more than the 150Ah, without wiring batteries together.
Built for Heavy Demand
300A continuous with 500A (15 sec) and 1,000A (2 sec) bursts, and up to 500A of regen charging. A good match for upgraded controllers, lifted carts and hilly ground, within those limits.

Lithium vs. Your Old Lead-Acid Pack
| Epoch 48V 230Ah Kit | Typical Lead-Acid | |
|---|---|---|
| Watering & terminal cleaning | Never | Regularly |
| Number of batteries | 1 | Usually 4 to 8 |
| Stored energy | 11.78 kWh | Varies by pack |
| Power as charge drops | Steady until nearly empty | Fades as voltage sags |
| Phone monitoring | Yes, via Bluetooth | No |
| Warranty | 11-year limited | Usually 1–2 years |
🔌 Charging Made Simple
About 10.5 Hours, Empty to Full
With the included 48V 22A charger and 10 ft cord from a standard 120V outlet. Partial top-offs are fine. If left plugged in, it restarts when the battery drops below about 95%.
No Lead-Acid Chargers
Your old charger won't charge or balance this battery properly, and equalization, desulfation or repair modes must never be used on it. Use the included lithium charger.
Charge Above Freezing
Charging is rated 0°C to 55°C (32°F to 131°F). There's no internal heater, so let a cold battery warm up first.
Low-Charge Alerts
Below 20%, the gauge warns and the buzzer sounds. Charge after each day's use, or at least weekly with light use.
🛡️ 11-Year Limited Warranty
Charger: 2 years. Gauge, converter, harness, port plug and other kit parts: 1 year. Register with Epoch within 90 days of purchase or keep your proof of purchase (otherwise coverage starts from the manufacturing date). Non-transferable. Damage from an unsecured battery and batteries left uncharged for more than 3 months aren't covered. Full terms at epochbatteries.com.
