A native 48V battery with self-heating, Victron communication and a serviceable Class T fuse. The Epoch 48V 100Ah V2-T Elite Series stores 5,120Wh at 51.2V in one sealed IP67 case, so a 48V system runs on one battery with one BMS instead of a series string of lower-voltage batteries. The "T" stands for its 250A Eaton Class T fuse, mounted behind a sealed top service panel so it can be replaced without opening the case. CAN communication to a Victron GX device, self-heating for cold-weather charging and Bluetooth monitoring through the included gauge make it a fit for 48V off-grid solar, home backup, RV and marine systems.

5.12 kWhStored energy
80AContinuous discharge
3,500+Cycles to 70% capacity
97 lbTotal weight

80A at 51.2V is about 4,096W DC before inverter losses. Epoch allows 250A for up to 10 seconds for surges.

🔧 Will It Fit & Work for You?

A large 8D-class case at 48V (Epoch sells an optional 8D mounting bracket separately). Popular uses include:

  • 48V Victron off-grid solar & cabins
  • Home backup & energy storage
  • 48V RV & motorhome systems
  • Marine house power & yachts
  • Victron GX & DVCC systems
  • Large 48V banks (up to 16 in parallel)
📏 Quick check before you order:
  • Your system runs at 48V nominal. This is a 51.2V battery. Series and series-parallel wiring aren't supported, so it won't work in 96V or higher systems.
  • Your space fits 20.86" L × 8.65" W × 12.06" H (529.8 × 219.8 × 306.3 mm, height includes terminal posts). Epoch gives no BCI group size, so confirm fit with these dimensions.
  • You can handle about 97 lb (44 kg). Plan on two people or a lifting aid, and mount it upright.
  • Your inverter's continuous DC draw stays within 80A (about 4,096W at 51.2V before inverter losses), with 250A allowed for up to 10 seconds. For bigger loads, add batteries in parallel.
  • For Victron integration you have a Cerbo GX, Ekrano GX or Cerbo GX Mk2. Without one, program every charger with Epoch's LiFePO4 settings.
  • You still add a DC-rated fuse or breaker on the positive conductor close to the battery. The internal Class T fuse doesn't replace a main disconnect or downstream protection.
  • It's a deep-cycle battery, not for starting engines.

What Makes the V2-T Different

🧯

Class T Fuse Built In

The "T" in V2-T is a 250A Eaton Class T fuse (UL 60691) behind a sealed top service panel. Epoch calls protection and serviceability the major difference: after a qualified installer finds and fixes a fault, the fuse can be replaced through the top panel without opening the case.

⚡

Native 48V in One Case

16 cells in series (16S1P) under one BMS: 100Ah and 5,120Wh at 51.2V. No string of 12V or 24V batteries to match, balance and cable together.

🔗

Talks to Victron

CAN at 500 kbit/s to a Cerbo GX, Ekrano GX or Cerbo GX Mk2. With DVCC on and Epoch set as the controlling BMS and battery monitor, the battery sets the charge voltage and current limits of your Victron chargers.

🔥

Charges in the Cold

Cells aren't charged below 0°C (32°F). Instead, the BMS sends incoming charge current to internal heating pads first, then resumes normal charging once the cells are warm. Charging is supported from -30°C (-22°F) ambient when charge current is available.

📱

Bluetooth Gauge Included

The included battery gauge adds Bluetooth for the free Epoch Cloud app, which shows state of charge, voltage, current, temperature, cycles and alerts.

🌊

IP67 Sealed Case

Dust-tight and rated for temporary immersion to 1 m for 30 minutes with seals and glands installed. PC/ABS case rated UL94 V-0. Not rated for water jets, pressure washing or continuous submersion.

⏱️ How Long Will It Run?

Constant load Estimated runtime
100W About 41 hours
500W About 8.2 hours
1,000W About 4.1 hours
3,000W About 1.4 hours

Epoch planning estimates for a single battery based on about 4,096Wh usable (80% of rated energy). Inverter losses, cable losses and temperature reduce real runtime.

🔌 Charging Made Simple

🔋

Up to 80A per Battery

80A continuous from all sources combined (90A for up to 5 seconds). Absorption at 56.8V for at least 15 minutes per battery, float at 54.0V. Never exceed 58.0V.

🔗

Victron Does It for You

With DVCC on and Epoch set as the controlling BMS, the battery sets your Victron chargers' limits. Epoch still says to program MultiPlus, Quattro and other charge sources with the same settings as a fallback.

🚫

No Lead-Acid Modes

Use a LiFePO4 CC/CV profile. Turn off equalization and set temperature compensation to 0 mV/°C. Before first use, turn the battery on and charge it fully at these settings.

🚐

Charging From an Alternator?

Epoch says to charge from an alternator through a DC-to-DC charger, or a lithium-ready alternator regulator set up per the alternator maker's guidance.

❓ Common Questions

What does the "T" in V2-T mean?
It's the 250A Eaton Class T fuse behind a sealed top service panel, which can be replaced without opening the case. Epoch says the 48V V2 Elite (C48100A) has a built-in fuse instead and its own manual. The Class T fuse doesn't replace a main disconnect, downstream protection or correct cable sizing.
Are the ratings the same as the 48V V2 Elite?
Not on paper. Epoch's current V2-T documents rate this model at 80A continuous discharge (250A for 10 seconds) and 80A continuous charge, and it uses the Epoch Cloud app. Size your inverter and chargers to the V2-T figures on this page rather than the V2 Elite's.
Does it work with Victron?
Yes, through a compatible GX device. Plug the harness into the Master battery's blue port and its grey RJ45 plug into the BMS-CAN port on a Cerbo GX or Ekrano GX, or VE.Can 1 or 2 on a Cerbo GX Mk2 set to 500 kbit/s. Turn on DVCC and set the controlling BMS and battery monitor to Epoch.
What size inverter can it run?
80A at 51.2V is about 4,096W DC before inverter losses, with 250A for surges up to 10 seconds. For an inverter that runs near or above that level, add batteries in parallel.
Can I wire two in series?
No. It's a native 48V battery and Epoch doesn't support series or series-parallel connections. Build capacity by adding batteries in parallel.
Can I build a bigger bank?
Yes. Up to 16 in parallel (1,600Ah / 81.92kWh), using matched batteries of the same age, capacity, firmware and state of charge. Set the DIP switches with all batteries off, daisy-chain RJ45 cables from each black port to the next blue port with no branches, and use cables, fuses and busbars rated for the full bank current.
Will it charge in freezing weather?
Yes, with charge current available. Cells aren't charged below 0°C (32°F); the BMS uses incoming charge current to warm the internal heating pads first, then resumes normal charging. Charging is supported from -30°C (-22°F) ambient, so state of charge may rise slowly at first.
What happens if the Class T fuse blows?
Shut the system down and have a qualified installer find and correct the fault. Then fit the specified 250A Eaton Class T fuse through the top service panel and reseal the panel.
Is it waterproof?
It's IP67, rated for temporary immersion to 1 m for 30 minutes with seals and glands installed. It isn't rated for water jets, pressure washing or continuous submersion.
Can it start an engine?
No. It's a deep-cycle battery, not a cranking battery.
