Victron Energy Lynx Smart BMS 1000 (M10) (LYN034170210): a dedicated battery management system for Victron Lithium Battery Smart banks, with a 1000 A main contactor, a built-in battery monitor, Bluetooth and VE.Can. The Lynx Smart BMS protects a 12V, 24V or 48V bank of Victron Lithium Battery Smart batteries and switches the whole system with its built-in 1000 A contactor. It warns you before it shuts loads down, controls Victron chargers and inverters through DVCC on a GX device, and doubles as a full battery monitor, so you don't need a separate shunt. It bolts straight into a Lynx busbar system with up to four Lynx Distributors. Note: this is the original Lynx Smart BMS for Lithium Battery Smart. For Victron Lithium NG batteries, you need the Lynx Smart BMS 1000 NG (LYN034170310). Backed by Victron's 5-year limited warranty.

  • Your bank is up to 4 Γ— 12.8V or 2 Γ— 25.6V in series, with up to 20 batteries total (up to 84 kWh at 12V or 102 kWh at 24V/48V).
  • Your system current stays within 1000 A continuous.
  • You'll add fusing. The BMS isn't a system fuse; use Lynx Distributors or other fuses for each load and charger circuit.
  • You'll mount it indoors in a dry place (IP22) and connect it to Lynx modules with M10 busbars.

❓ Common Questions

Will it work with Victron Lithium NG or SuperPack batteries?
No. This BMS is for Victron Lithium Battery Smart. Lithium NG batteries need the Lynx Smart BMS NG (LYN034170310), and SuperPack NG batteries have their own built-in BMS.
Do I still need a battery monitor?
No. The Lynx Smart BMS has a built-in shunt and battery monitor that shows state of charge, voltage, current and history.
Is it a fuse?
No. The BMS contactor isn't a system fuse. Fuse each circuit with Lynx Distributors or other suitable fuses.
How does it control my chargers and inverter?
With a GX device (such as the Cerbo GX), it controls Victron chargers and inverters through DVCC. Non-GX equipment can use the allowed-to-charge and allowed-to-discharge contacts.
Can I parallel two BMSes?
Yes, up to 5. Victron says Lynx Smart BMS units can be paralleled with Lynx Smart BMS NG units of the same current rating, with each BMS managing its own batteries.
Is it UL listed?
Victron doesn't list UL or CSA certification for the Lynx Smart BMS. Call us if your inspector needs specific paperwork.
How does the warranty work?
