A single 30 lb battery for your 24V trolling motor. The Epoch 24V 60Ah Pro Series (DP2460H) is a deep-cycle LiFePO4 battery that stores 1.54kWh at 25.6V nominal. In compatible systems it replaces the pair of 12V lead-acid batteries usually wired in series for a 24V trolling motor. It fits a BCI Group 27 footprint, has an IP67 sealed case, warms itself before charging in the cold, and reports to your phone over Bluetooth through the Epoch Pro app.

1.54 kWhStored energy
80AContinuous output

Epoch recommends 30A for daily use. The 200A peak (up to 3 seconds) covers motor start-up surges only; this is not a cranking battery.

🔧 Will It Fit & Work for You?

A 24V battery in a BCI Group 27 footprint, built for deep-cycle use. Popular uses include:

  • 24V trolling motors
  • Bass, jon & pontoon boats
  • Kayak & small-boat electric propulsion
  • Marine electronics on a 24V system
  • RV, van & overland 24V power
  • Off-grid solar & Victron systems
  • Larger 24V banks (up to 16 in parallel)
📏 Quick check before you order:
  • Your tray fits 12.25" L × 6.75" W × 9" H (311 × 171 × 229 mm, Group 27), and the mount can handle 30 lb. Install it upright only.
  • Your system runs at 24V. Epoch does not approve this model for series wiring, so it can't be stacked to 36V or 48V.
  • Your trolling motor's maximum current draw (not its average) is 80A or less. Epoch recommends 30A for daily use.
  • Your charger has a 24V LiFePO4 profile (28.4V to 28.8V absorption). Charge from an alternator through a DC-to-DC charger.
  • You're not using it to start an engine. Epoch rates it as deep-cycle, not a cranking battery.

Why Anglers Switch to a 24V Lithium

🎣

One Battery Instead of Two

A 24V trolling motor usually needs two 12V batteries in series. This single 25.6V battery does the job in compatible systems, with no jumper cable between batteries.

⚖️

30 lb Total

One Group 27-size case at 30 lb, against two heavy lead-acid batteries. Less weight in the boat and easier to carry to the charger.

💧

IP67 Sealed Case

Dust-tight and protected against temporary immersion to 1 m for 30 minutes. Not for submersion, water jets or pressure washing, and keep it out of spots where water pools.

🔥

Cold-Weather Charging

With a charger connected, the internal heater warms the cells to 10°C (50°F) before charging begins. Charge range is -20°C to 55°C.

📱

Bluetooth Monitoring

The free Epoch Pro app shows state of charge, voltage, current, temperature and alerts, and handles over-the-air firmware updates. CAN/RS485 Link ports support parallel banks and Victron-compatible communication.

🧠

Smart BMS Protection

Overcharge, over-discharge, over-current, high/low temperature and short-circuit protection (cutoff at 800A within 500µs), plus passive cell balancing near full charge.

⏱️ How Long Will It Run?

Constant load Estimated runtime
50W About 24.6 hours
100W About 12.3 hours
250W About 4.9 hours
500W About 2.5 hours
30A load (768W) About 1.6 hours

Epoch planning estimates based on 80% of 1.54kWh (about 1,229Wh) on a new, fully charged battery at 25°C. Trolling motor speed setting, wind, current, temperature and battery age affect real results.

📦 What's in the Box

Lithium vs. Two 12V Lead-Acid Batteries

Epoch 24V 60Ah Typical Lead-Acid
Batteries for 24V 1 2 in series
Weight 30 lb Much heavier combined
Usable capacity Most of the rated 60Ah About half, to protect battery life
Cycle life 6,000+ cycles A few hundred
Cold-weather charging Built-in heater Slow & inefficient
Phone monitoring Yes, Bluetooth No
Maintenance None Watering & terminal cleaning (flooded)
Warranty 11-year limited Usually 1–2 years

🔌 Charging Made Simple

🔋

Recommended: 30A

Charge at up to 30A for one battery (60A max from all sources combined). A smaller charger, like Epoch's 24V 15A, works fine, it just takes longer.

🚫

No Lead-Acid Modes

Use a 24V LiFePO4 profile: absorption 28.4V to 28.8V, float off (preferred) or 26.6V to 27.2V. Turn off equalization and set temperature compensation to 0.

🔥

Cold-Weather Charging

In the cold, a connected charger powers the internal heater first. Once the cells reach 10°C (50°F), the battery switches to charging. Heating only runs while a charger is connected.

🚤

Charging From an Alternator?

Epoch calls for a DC-to-DC charger set to a 24V LiFePO4 profile between the alternator and the battery.

🛡️ 11-Year Limited Warranty

❓ Common Questions

Will it run my 24V trolling motor?
Yes, if the motor's maximum current draw is 80A or less and your wiring, fuse and charger match the battery's ratings. Epoch recommends 30A for daily use.
Does it replace my two 12V batteries?
In compatible systems, yes. One 25.6V battery takes the place of two 12V lead-acid batteries wired in series.
Can I wire two in series for a 36V or 48V motor?
No. Epoch does not approve series wiring for this model. For 36V or 48V, ask us about batteries built for those voltages.
Can it start my outboard?
No. Even though it's in the Pro Series, Epoch rates the DP2460H as deep-cycle, not a cranking battery. Use a cranking-rated battery for engine starting.
How long will it last on the water?
It depends on speed setting, wind and current. Epoch's planning figure is about 1,229Wh usable, which is about 1.6 hours at a steady 30A or 4.9 hours at 250W.
Will it fit my Group 27 tray?
It's built around a Group 27 footprint: 12.25" × 6.75" × 9" and 30 lb. Check hold-down and terminal clearance, and mount it upright.
Can I mount it in a wet bilge?
No. IP67 means dust-tight and protected against temporary immersion to 1 m for 30 minutes. Mount it where water won't collect.
Can I check charge levels on the water?
Yes. Built-in Bluetooth sends charge, voltage, current and temperature to the free Epoch Pro app on iOS or Android.
What charger do I need?
Any charger with a 24V LiFePO4 profile (28.4V to 28.8V absorption, no equalization). Up to 30A is recommended. Epoch's 24V 15A lithium charger is a match.
Can I build a bigger 24V bank?
Yes. Up to 16 matched DP2460H batteries in parallel, for 960Ah at 24V.
