Your inverter's DC input stays within 230A continuous (about 2,944W, which commonly suits 2,500–3,000W inverters), with 500A for up to 10 seconds.
For closed-loop control you have a Victron Cerbo GX, Ekrano GX or Cerbo GX MK2. Without one, program every charger with Epoch's LiFePO4 settings.
You still add a main fuse or DC-rated breaker near the positive terminal. The internal Class T fuse doesn't replace downstream protection.
It's a deep-cycle battery, not for starting engines.

What Makes the V2-T Different

Class T Fuse Built In

The "T" in V2-T is an integrated 400A Eaton Bussmann JJN-400 Class T fuse (20kA interrupting at 160V DC). It reduces fault energy at the battery outlet and can be replaced by the user after a fault.

Talks to Victron

CANbus at 500 kbit/s to Cerbo GX, Ekrano GX or Cerbo GX MK2. With DVCC on and Epoch set as the controlling BMS, the battery shares charge limits, state of charge and status. Victron is the only CAN integration Epoch lists.

IP67 Sealed

Dust-tight and rated for temporary immersion to 1 m for 30 minutes, with all seals, glands and port plugs installed. Not rated for water jets or pressure washing.

Charges in the Cold

Below 5°C the internal heater (about 180W) runs on charger power, never stored energy. Charging pauses at 0°C and resumes automatically at 5°C.

The included State of Charge meter shows SoC, voltage and current, and its Bluetooth 4.0 module connects to the free Epoch Cloud app for cell voltages, temperature, cycles and alerts.

No Lead-Acid Modes

Use a LiFePO4 profile. Turn off equalization and set temperature compensation to 0. Program every charge source with these settings as a fallback if CAN drops.

Charging pauses at 0°C (32°F). Charger power runs the heater below 5°C, and charging resumes automatically at 5°C (41°F). Low charge current during warm-up is normal.

❓ Common Questions

What does the "T" in V2-T mean?

It's the integrated, user-serviceable 400A Eaton Bussmann JJN-400 Class T fuse, which reduces fault energy at the battery outlet. Epoch's V2 Elite shares the IP67 enclosure, heater, Bluetooth and Victron CANbus; the V2-T adds the Class T fuse. You still need a main fuse or DC-rated breaker near the positive terminal.

Does it work with Victron?

Yes, through a compatible GX device. Connect the included harness to the BMS-CAN port on a Cerbo GX or Ekrano GX, or VE.Can 1 or 2 on a Cerbo GX MK2 set to 500 kbps. Turn on DVCC and set the controlling BMS and battery monitor to Epoch.

Does it work with other inverter brands over CAN?

Epoch only lists Victron CAN integration. With other brands, program the charger and inverter manually with Epoch's LiFePO4 settings.

What size inverter can it run?

230A at 12.8V is about 2,944W before inverter losses, which commonly suits 2,500–3,000W inverters with properly sized cabling and fusing. 500A is for surges up to 10 seconds only.

Can I use it on a boat?

Yes, in a clean, dry, protected compartment. The IP67 enclosure handles temporary immersion to 1 m for 30 minutes with all seals and plugs installed, but keep it away from bilge water and salt spray, and have it checked after any immersion.

Will it charge in freezing weather?

Yes, with a LiFePO4 charger connected. Charging pauses at 0°C (32°F) while charger power runs the heater, and resumes at 5°C (41°F). The heater never uses stored battery energy.

Do I need a separate shunt or monitor?

No. The included State of Charge meter shows SoC, voltage and current, and connects by Bluetooth to the free Epoch Cloud app.

Can I build a bigger bank?

Yes. Up to 16 in parallel or 4 in series, using matched batteries at the same state of charge and firmware, with one Master set by DIP switches. Series-parallel isn't supported.

Can it start an engine?

No. It's a deep-cycle battery, not cranking-rated.
