Run your 72V cart on one sealed lithium battery. The Epoch 72V 105Ah LiFePO4 Golf Cart Conversion Kit replaces the lead-acid bank in a 72V golf cart, custom build or neighborhood vehicle with a single 132 lb battery storing 7.39kWh. It's rated 70.4V nominal with 250A continuous output, and the kit includes a 72V 15A lithium charger, a Bluetooth battery gauge and a 12V converter for your lights and accessories.

*Epoch says performance users often report 40 to 50 miles per charge in favorable conditions. This is guidance, not a rating. Terrain, load, tire size, motor, controller programming and driving style all affect real-world range.

🛺 Will It Fit My Cart?

This kit comes in one version. There's no cart selector, and it doesn't include cart-specific mounting brackets. It's built for vehicles that already run a 72V system. Epoch lists it for:

  • 72V golf carts (Club Car, EZGO & Yamaha platforms when fitment matches)
  • Custom & high-performance 72V builds
  • 72V neighborhood electric vehicles (NEVs / LSVs)
  • 72V utility vehicles
  • Aftermarket 72V motor & controller setups within the BMS limits
📏 Quick check before you order:
  • Your cart runs on 72V. This battery is 70.4V nominal and charges to 79.2V. It is not for 36V or 48V systems, and it can't be wired in series.
  • Upgrading a 48V cart? Your controller, motor, solenoid and other high-voltage parts must be rated for 72V before this battery goes in.
  • Your battery bay fits 21.7" L × 13.4" W × 9.9" H (550 × 340 × 250 mm), plus room for terminals and cables. The battery weighs 132 lb (60 kg) and mounts upright.
  • Mounting brackets, tray and hold-down hardware are not included. You'll need hardware rated for 132 lb. Epoch sells a tray separately.
  • Your controller's draw stays within 250A continuous (500A for 15 sec, 1,000A for 2 sec), with regen braking within 500A for 15 sec.
  • Epoch's kit list doesn't include a charge port plug. Plan how the charger will connect to your cart's receptacle before install.
  • Fitment isn't universal. Epoch recommends checking tray fit, terminal clearance, cable size, fuse protection and charger profile for your vehicle.
Not sure? Tell us what you're powering and we'll help you size it before you buy.

Why 72V Owners Make the Switch

⚖️

One Battery Instead of a Full Bank

A single 132 lb battery replaces the whole 72V lead-acid bank, so there's less weight to haul and only one battery to wire and look after.

⚡

Power for High-Performance Builds

250A continuous with 500A (15 sec) and 1,000A (2 sec) bursts, plus up to 500A of regen charging for 15 sec. Voltage stays steady instead of sagging as the charge drops.

🔌 Charging Made Simple

⏱️

About 7 Hours, Empty to Full

With the included 72V 15A lithium charger. If left plugged in, it restarts when the battery drops below about 95%.

🚫

No Lead-Acid Chargers

Don't use your old charger unless it's specifically approved and programmed for LiFePO4 within Epoch's limits (79.2V max). Equalization and temperature compensation must be off.

❄️

Charge Above Freezing

Charging is rated 0°C to 55°C (32°F to 131°F), and the BMS blocks charging outside that range. There's no internal heater, so let a cold battery warm up first.

🔋

Low-Charge Alerts

Below 20%, the gauge bars flash and the buzzer sounds. Charge after each day's use, or at least weekly with light use.

🛡️ 11-Year Limited Warranty

❓ Common Questions

Does my cart need to be 72V?
Yes. This battery is 70.4V nominal and charges to 79.2V, so it's only for vehicles built for a 72V system. It isn't for 36V or 48V carts, and Epoch doesn't support wiring batteries in series to change the voltage. Not sure what your cart runs? Count the batteries and check their voltage, or send us your cart's make, model and year.
Can I convert my 48V cart to 72V with this kit?
Only if the rest of the drive system is ready for it. The controller, motor, solenoid and other high-voltage parts need to be rated for 72V, and the controller's draw has to stay within the battery's limits. The kit doesn't include those parts. Tell us what's in your cart and we'll help you check.
Is this one battery or several?
One. A single 132 lb battery replaces the whole lead-acid bank, so there's no series wiring between batteries. You connect one positive and one negative cable to the cart.
Is there a version for my cart brand?
No. Epoch sells this kit as one version, without cart-specific brackets or a charge port plug. You'll need a tray or hold-down hardware rated for 132 lb, and the bay has to fit 21.7" × 13.4" × 9.9".
Will it work with my aftermarket motor and controller?
Yes, as long as the controller's draw stays within 250A continuous, 500A for 15 seconds and 1,000A for 2 seconds, and regen stays within 500A for 15 seconds. Check your controller's programmed limits, cable sizing and fuse protection.
Will it make my cart faster?
Top speed depends on your cart, motor, controller, tire size, programming, terrain and load, not the battery alone. You'll notice steadier power as the charge drops and less weight to carry.
How far will I go on a charge?
Epoch says performance users often report 40 to 50 miles per charge in favorable conditions. That's guidance, not a rating. Hills, passengers, larger tires, lift kits, controller settings and accessories will lower it.
Can I keep using my old lead-acid charger?
No, unless it's specifically approved and programmed for LiFePO4 within Epoch's limits, with equalization and temperature compensation off. Use the included 72V 15A lithium charger.
Can I install it myself?
Epoch specifies installation by an authorized mechanic or technician, following the user manual. You'll need to secure the battery with hardware rated for its weight and add a main fuse or DC-rated breaker near the positive terminal (neither is included). Call us if you have questions about your cart.
Will my 12V lights and radio still work?
Yes. The included 12V converter powers them. Don't run 12V accessories directly off the 72V battery. Epoch doesn't publish the converter's amp rating, so ask us if you run a lot of 12V accessories.
Can I charge it in the winter?
Not below freezing. Charging is rated 0°C to 55°C (32°F to 131°F), and there's no internal heater. Let the battery warm above freezing before plugging in.
The battery shut off on its own. What happened?
To protect itself, the battery powers down after 7 days without use above 20% charge, or 24 hours at or below 20%. Press the on/off switch twice to wake it, or cycle the charger or load.
How should I store it over the off-season?
Charge to 60–90%, turn the battery off, store it dry between 50°F and 95°F, and check the charge at least every 3 months. Leaving it uncharged for more than 3 months isn't covered by the warranty.
Can I add a second battery for more range?
Yes. Up to two matched batteries in parallel (210Ah / 14.78 kWh), same model, age, condition and firmware, charged to the same level before connecting. Use equal cable lengths and fuse each branch. Series connection and mixing with lead-acid aren't supported.
