Victron Energy MultiPlus-II 12/3000/120-50 2x120V (PMP122305100): a pure sine wave inverter, battery charger and automatic transfer switch built for modern solar and lithium systems. Run 120V AC loads from your 12V battery bank with 3000 VA / 2400 W of continuous pure sine wave power and 5500 W peak. When shore power, a generator or the grid is connected, the 120 A charger refills your batteries and the 50 A transfer switch takes over in less than 18 ms. As a 2x120V model it accepts 120/240V split-phase input and passes 240V through to your loads, while inverting 120V from the batteries. PowerControl, PowerAssist, ESS support and a built-in ground relay make it a favorite for RV, marine, off-grid and home backup systems. Backed by Victron's 5-year limited warranty.

3000 VA2400 W continuous
120 ABattery charger
50 AAC input / transfer
5500 WPeak power

Ratings at 25Β°C (77Β°F) ambient, from Victron's datasheet. Output drops at higher temperatures, see the table below.

⚑ Is It Right for Your System?

Built for 12V battery banks in systems with 120/240V split-phase shore or generator power. Common uses:

  • 50A RVs & motorhomes
  • Boats with 120/240V shore power
  • Homes & cabins with split-phase panels
  • Off-grid solar & storage
πŸ“ Quick check before you order:
  • Your battery bank is 12V (inverter input range 9.5–17 V).
  • You have 120/240V split-phase shore or generator power. On batteries alone it inverts 120V only (240V loads run only while split-phase power is connected).
  • Your AC loads stay within 2400 W continuous at 25Β°C, with short surges up to 5500 W.
  • Your shore, generator or grid input is up to 50 A per leg. PowerControl lets you set a lower limit.
  • Plan for battery cables, a DC fuse and AC wiring sized per Victron's manual (not included).
  • Need UL for an RV, inspection or permit? This version isn't UL listed. See the UL models in the table below.
Not sure? Tell us your loads and battery bank and we'll help you size it before you buy.

Why Choose a Victron MultiPlus-II

πŸ”

Three Units in One

A pure sine wave inverter, an adaptive battery charger and an automatic transfer switch share one box, saving space and wiring.

πŸ”Œ

PowerControl & PowerAssist

Set a maximum shore or generator current. When loads spike past it, the MultiPlus-II adds battery power so the breaker doesn't trip.

β˜€οΈ

Built for Solar & ESS

Supports Victron's Energy Storage System (ESS) mode for self-consumption, and works with Victron GX devices, MPPT solar chargers and lithium battery BMS integration.

⚑

Fast, Smooth Transfer

Switches to battery power in less than 18 ms on the L1 output (about 40 ms on L2). A built-in ground relay connects neutral to chassis automatically when running on batteries.

πŸ”—

Expandable

Up to 6 units in parallel, and 3 units for three-phase output. In multi-phase setups the L2 output is disabled.

πŸ›‘οΈ

5-Year Victron Warranty

Victron covers the MultiPlus-II for 5 years from purchase by the original end user, and warranty claims go through us.

❓ Common Questions

What's the difference between the MultiPlus-II and the original MultiPlus?
The MultiPlus-II adds ESS (Energy Storage System) support, a built-in ground relay, an option for an external AC current sensor and tighter integration with Victron GX devices, which is why it's the usual choice for solar, lithium and home backup systems.
Will it start my air conditioner, microwave or pump?
Motors and compressors pull a short surge when they start. This model handles surges up to 5500 W, with 2400 W continuous. Send us the appliance labels and we'll confirm.
Will it work on smaller shore power or a small generator?
Yes. PowerControl lets you set the maximum AC input current (up to 50 A), and PowerAssist adds battery power during peaks so a small shore connection or generator doesn't trip.
Can it power my 240V appliances?
Only while 120/240V split-phase shore or generator power is connected; it passes 240V through to your loads. On batteries alone it inverts 120V, and the L2 output follows the AC input.
Can I use it with lithium batteries?
Yes. Charge voltages are adjustable, and with a GX device the MultiPlus-II can take charge commands directly from a compatible lithium battery's BMS over Victron's communication ports.
How do I program and monitor it?
Use an MK3-USB interface with Victron's free VEConfigure software, or a VE.Bus Smart dongle with the VictronConnect app. A GX device like the Cerbo GX adds ESS control and remote monitoring on Victron's VRM portal. All are sold separately.
Is it UL listed?
No, this version isn't UL listed. Many RV builders, inspectors and permit offices ask for UL 458 or UL 1741, so check the UL models in the comparison table if you need it.
What size cables and fuse do I need?
Victron's manual calls for a 400 A DC fuse and 2Γ— AWG 1/0 cable for this model. Ask us and we'll spec your wiring.
How does the warranty work?
Victron covers it for 5 years from the original end user's purchase date. Warranty claims go through the place of purchase, so contact us and we'll handle it with Victron.
