Victron Energy MultiPlus Compact 12/2000/80-50 120V (CMP122200102): a pure sine wave inverter, battery charger and automatic transfer switch in one unit. Run 120V AC loads from your 12V battery bank with 2000 VA / 1600 W of continuous pure sine wave power and 4000 W peak for motor starts. When shore power, a generator or the grid is connected, the 80 A adaptive charger refills your batteries and the 50 A transfer switch passes power through to your loads. PowerControl and PowerAssist make the most of limited shore or generator power. Backed by Victron's 5-year limited warranty.
Ratings at 25Β°C (77Β°F) ambient, from Victron's datasheet. Output drops at higher temperatures, see the table below.
β‘ Is It Right for Your System?
Built for 12V battery banks powering standard 120V 60 Hz North American AC loads. Common uses:
- RVs & campers
- Boats & yachts
- Off-grid cabins & solar
- Home backup
- Work trucks & vans
- Your battery bank is 12V (inverter input range 9.5β17 V).
- Your AC loads stay within 1600 W continuous at 25Β°C, with short surges up to 4000 W. Installing somewhere hot? Check the temperature table below.
- Your shore or generator input is up to 50 A. PowerControl lets you set a lower limit to match a smaller shore cord or generator.
- Plan for battery cables, a DC fuse and AC wiring sized per Victron's manual (not included).
- Need UL? This model carries UL 458.
Why Choose a Victron MultiPlus
Three Units in One
A pure sine wave inverter, an adaptive battery charger and an automatic transfer switch share one box, saving space and wiring.
PowerControl & PowerAssist
Set a maximum shore or generator current. When loads spike past it, the MultiPlus adds battery power so the breaker doesn't trip.
Adaptive Battery Charging
An 80 A adaptive charger with battery temperature sensing, plus a 4 A output to keep a starter battery topped up.
Grows With Your System
Up to 6 in parallel; 3-phase capable. Can be set up as a split-phase system (per Victron's manual).
Programmable & Connected
Programmable relay: yes (1Γ). VE.Bus connects it to Victron remote panels, GX devices and the VictronConnect app (with the right interface).
5-Year Victron Warranty
Victron covers the MultiPlus for 5 years from purchase by the original end user, and warranty claims go through us.

π Charging Your Batteries
Lithium or Lead-Acid
Default charge voltages are 14.4 V / 13.8 V / 13.2 V (absorption / float / storage). Adjust them with VEConfigure or VictronConnect to match your battery maker's specs.
Shore, Generator or Grid
Charges from 95β140 VAC, 45β65 Hz AC input, and PowerControl keeps it within your shore or generator limit.
Starter Battery Output
A separate 4 A output keeps an engine or starter battery charged.
Temperature Compensation
A battery temperature sensor input adjusts charging for hot and cold conditions.
