Victron Energy MultiPlus 12/3000/120-50 230V (PMP123021010): a pure sine wave inverter, battery charger and automatic transfer switch in one unit. Run 230V AC loads from your 12V battery bank with 3000 VA / 2400 W of continuous pure sine wave power and 6000 W peak for motor starts. When shore power, a generator or the grid is connected, the 120 A adaptive charger refills your batteries and the 50 A transfer switch passes power through to your loads. PowerControl and PowerAssist make the most of limited shore or generator power. Backed by Victron's 5-year limited warranty.

⚑ Is It Right for Your System?

Built for 12V battery banks powering 230V 50 Hz AC loads (adjustable to 60 Hz). Common uses:

  • 230V boats & yachts
  • International & export systems
  • 230V off-grid solar
  • Mobile & commercial 230V systems
πŸ“ Quick check before you order:
  • Your battery bank is 12V (inverter input range 9.5–17 V).
  • You need 230V AC. This model is not for standard North American 120V wiring. For 120V, see the MultiPlus 12/3000/120-50 120V.
  • Your AC loads stay within 2400 W continuous at 25Β°C, with short surges up to 6000 W. Installing somewhere hot? Check the temperature table below.
  • Your shore or generator input is up to 50 A. PowerControl lets you set a lower limit to match a smaller shore cord or generator.
  • Plan for battery cables, a DC fuse and AC wiring sized per Victron's manual (not included).
  • Need UL for an RV, inspection or permit? This version isn't UL listed. See the UL models in the comparison table below.
Not sure? Tell us your loads and battery bank and we'll help you size it before you buy.

Why Choose a Victron MultiPlus

πŸ”

Three Units in One

A pure sine wave inverter, an adaptive battery charger and an automatic transfer switch share one box, saving space and wiring.

πŸ”Œ

PowerControl & PowerAssist

Set a maximum shore or generator current. When loads spike past it, the MultiPlus adds battery power so the breaker doesn't trip.

πŸ”‹

Adaptive Battery Charging

A 120 A adaptive charger with battery temperature sensing, plus a 4 A output to keep a starter battery topped up.

πŸ”—

Grows With Your System

Up to 6 in parallel; 3 units for 3-phase.

βš™οΈ

Programmable & Connected

Programmable relay: yes (3Γ—). VE.Bus connects it to Victron remote panels, GX devices and the VictronConnect app (with the right interface).

πŸ›‘οΈ

5-Year Victron Warranty

Victron covers the MultiPlus for 5 years from purchase by the original end user, and warranty claims go through us.

πŸ”‹ Charging Your Batteries

πŸ”‹

Lithium or Lead-Acid

Default charge voltages are 14.4 V / 13.8 V / 13.2 V (absorption / float / storage). Adjust them with VEConfigure or VictronConnect to match your battery maker's specs.

πŸ”Œ

Shore, Generator or Grid

Charges from 187–265 VAC, 45–65 Hz AC input, and PowerControl keeps it within your shore or generator limit.

🚀

Starter Battery Output

A separate 4 A output keeps an engine or starter battery charged.

🌑️

Temperature Compensation

A battery temperature sensor input adjusts charging for hot and cold conditions.

❓ Common Questions

What's the difference between VA and watts?
VA is apparent power and watts are the real power your appliances use. This MultiPlus delivers 3000 VA, which is 2400 W of continuous power at 25Β°C. Add up the watts of everything you'll run at once and stay under 2400 W.
Will it start my air conditioner, microwave or pump?
Motors and compressors pull a short surge when they start. This model handles surges up to 6000 W, with 2400 W continuous. Send us the appliance labels and we'll confirm.
Will it work on smaller shore power or a small generator?
Yes. PowerControl lets you set the maximum AC input current (up to 50 A), and PowerAssist adds battery power during peaks so a small shore connection or generator doesn't trip.
Can I use it with lithium batteries?
Yes. The charge voltages are adjustable with VEConfigure or VictronConnect, so you can match your lithium battery maker's settings. Ask us about pairing it with a GX device for battery communication.
How do I program and monitor it?
Use an MK3-USB interface with Victron's free VEConfigure software on a PC, or a VE.Bus Smart dongle with the VictronConnect app over Bluetooth. Add a GX device like the Cerbo GX for remote monitoring on Victron's VRM portal. All are sold separately.
Can I connect more than one?
Up to 6 in parallel; 3 units for 3-phase. Units must be the same model and configured with Victron's software.
Can I use this in a US home or RV?
Not on standard 120V wiring. This is the 230V 50 Hz version (adjustable to 60 Hz), for 230V systems. For 120V, choose the MultiPlus 12/3000/120-50 120V.
What size cables and fuse do I need?
Victron's installation manual lists the recommended battery cable size and DC fuse for this model. Linked above in Manuals & Downloads, or ask us and we'll spec your wiring.
How does the warranty work?
Victron covers it for 5 years from the original end user's purchase date. Warranty claims go through the place of purchase, so contact us and we'll handle it with Victron.
