The Epoch 12V 334Ah MC Essential Series stores 4.28kWh in a powder-coated steel case built for dry, protected indoor installs. It talks to a Victron Cerbo GX or Ekrano GX over CAN-bus, reports to your phone over Bluetooth, and warms itself before charging in the cold. It's built for off-grid solar, home backup, cabin and RV owners running a Victron-based system who want a lot of 12V energy from one battery.

Does it work with my Victron system?

Yes. It connects to a Cerbo GX or Ekrano GX over CAN-bus. Select the CAN-bus BMS profile (500 kbit/s) and enable DVCC so your Victron chargers follow the battery's limits.

Can I wire them for 24V or 48V?

No. Series wiring is not approved for this model unless Epoch provides written guidance. You can build a larger 12V bank in parallel: 4 batteries are validated (17.10kWh), and up to 16 with Epoch design support.

Can I install it outdoors or in a boat?

Epoch rates it IP21 for dry, protected indoor installs only. It's drip resistant but not dust-tight or waterproof.

What size inverter can it run?

300A at 12.8V is about 3,840W before inverter losses, which commonly suits 3,000W 12V inverters with proper cabling and fusing. 150A is recommended for daily use.

How does the heater work?

Charging is blocked below 0°C (32°F). With a charger connected, an internal heating film warms the cells, and charging resumes above 5°C (41°F). Warming can take up to 60 minutes in deep cold.

Does it have Bluetooth?

Yes. The free Epoch Li-Ion app shows state of charge, cell voltages, temperatures, heater status and BMS history.

Does it fit a Group 31 battery box?

No. It's a larger 15.35" × 8.07" × 11.02" steel-cased battery weighing 75 lb. Measure your space before ordering.

Can it start my engine?

No. It's a deep-cycle battery. Use a cranking or dual-purpose battery for starting.
